Job Description

STV's National Rail team is seeking an experiencedConstruction Manager to join our team to help manage numerous rail construction projects located in the in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the contractor to determine schedule of work.
  • Monitor multiple construction activities daily.
  • Review and analyze plans and specifications to ensure the feasibility of the construction projects prior to start of the work.
  • Observe construction work and determine the need for major changes.
  • Monitor and/or perform field quality assurance tests.
  • Complete detailed quality assurance functions for all aspects of construction.
  • Provide daily, on-site oversight and documentation. Observe the quality and determine the quantity of work performed by the contractor and the contractor's QC/QA Inspection staff to minimize defects and deficiencies in the Contractor's work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with construction work, construction methods, construction specifications, contract specifications and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Technical certification in earthwork, concrete and weld inspection is a plus but not required.

Candidate must be willing to travel out of town as needed on a regular basis. Standard working hours may vary depending on project need, to include possible night and weekend work.

Working Environment:

  • The working environment will consist of working in the field in uncontrolled atmospheric conditions such as cold, heat, snow, rain, mud, etc., A field office may not be made available, so the CM may have to work from/in their vehicle.
  • Candidate must able to traverse rough terrain, steep grades, and sites covered with heavy vegetation.

Candidate will be required to work on high structures, such as bridges, and such structures may.

Compensation Range:

$77,192.00 - $102,923.00
